"A Passion For Quality Craftsmanship"

Friday, May 11, 2012

“Quality is never an accident”

According to William A. Foster.  It is a combination of high standards, knowledge, experience and strategic planning used to successfully complete a remodeling project that satisfies the client.

It encompasses more than your finished project and it involves many stages including materials, planning, design and adherence to building standards.  These factors all determine whether your project will ensure minimal maintenance and longevity.

There is always a remodeler who can build with substandard workmanship and sell at a lower cost, but they cannot compete with a higher and better product and service. Considering price alone may lead to poor quality such as inferior materials or inadequate craftsmanship that may be more costly in the long run.  There are no surprises or hidden costs with DeSalvo Construction, LLC.  They have a passion for quality craftsmanship.  First they find out what you are interested in and then plan their contract to accurately reflect their strategy to meet or exceed the construction industry’s requirements.

DeSalvo Construction builds in the most efficient, economical and satisfactory manner possible.  You can be assured that quality is essential from their planning and design stages, to achieving unique construction methods, ordering materials, hiring subcontractors and getting the job done right the first time.  Through this process it ensures a certain level of quality to meet the expectations of their client.

Quality is related to price.  The value of your completed project should be based by what it gives you, and not by what you give for it.  Service and satisfaction, not initial cost, determines worth.   So if quality and value are something you desire for your remodeling project, home addition or indoor pool, we believe DeSalvo Construction is a well-recommended company that guarantees to provide value, craftsmanship and comfort.

Building an Indoor Pool is not for Your Average Contractor

Building an indoor swimming pool is not for your average contractor.  They are more complicated and technically demanding than most construction projects and require special knowledge, a high level of skill, a commitment to customer satisfaction and a passion for excellence, all of which mark the work of DeSalvo Construction, LLC.

While learning the intricacies of a natatorium, Tim DeSalvo, built one of his own.  They are far from a regular outdoor swimming pool.  A well constructed natatorium is available on demand year round, can be fully automated so that it requires minimal maintenance, and becomes in reality a kind of indoor private sanctuary where one can exercise, mediate, or simply relax.

A correctly built indoor swimmimg pool has low humidity and virtually no pool odor.  Creating that kind of healthful and comfortable climate is not easy.  It requires intense attention to detail and a complete understanding of the materials and systems that make it possible.

When finished, a natatorium is an enjoyable, comfortable environment, one that effortlessly hides the astonishing array of material technology and engineering applications that make it possible.

Tim is the sole owner and does the work himself with reliable subcontractors and his sons.  He devotes his full attention to what he does best so that all his work is of the highest quality.  This means not only that the client receives the best construction work money can buy, but also that he is involved every step of the way.

Finding a Reliable Home Remodeler

You have a vision to invest in your home for future enjoyment and now you are looking for that reliable home remodeler.  For a successful project, there are questions you should be prepared to ask when determining who you will hire to transform your vision into reality.

Here are some questions NARI members recommend you ask before signing a remodeling contract:
•  How long have you been in business?
•  Who will be assigned as project supervisor for the job?
•  Who will be working on the project?  Are they employees or subcontractors?
•  Does you company carry workers compensation and liability insurance?
•  What is your approach to our project?
•  May I  have a list of references from other projects you have completed?
•  What percentage of your business is repeat or referral business?
•  Have you or your employees been certified in remodeling or had any special training or education?

Listed below is some additional information suggested by the NAHB when you are ready to make a decision to select a home builder or remodeler to work on your home:

•  Ask if you can see the builder/remodelers work, both completed and in progress.  Check for quality workmanship and materials.
•  Do you feel you can easily communicate with the builder/remodeler?  Remember you will be in close contact with them throughout the construction process and afterward as you live in your new home.
•  Make sure the builder/remodeler provides you with a complete and clearly written contract.
•  Be cautious of unusually low-priced bids.  If the builder/remodeler is unable to pay for the materials and labor as the project proceeds, this may indicate a potential problem.  Keep in mind that less expensive does not necessarily mean better!
•  Make sure the builder or home remodeler has a permanent business location and a good reputation.
•  Find out how long they have been in the building business. You may want to make sure they will be around after the construction is complete to service any warranties.
•  Ask the builder/remodeler to provide you with names of previous customers.  If they won’t, beware.  If they do, ask the customers if they would hire the builder/remodeler again.

Building a new home, adding an addition, or renovating existing space in your home can be a fun experience.  You get to create your design and learn a little about building along the way.  Finding the right contractor may appear overwhelming but if you trust your instincts, ask the right questions, and feel comfortable, the end results will be a project you will enjoy every day for the rest of your life.
